The Metro New York Chapter

for UN Women invites you for an enlightening

From War to Work:

Women Building Back Communities

The UN Women Metro NY chapter cordially invites you to roundtable discussion: “From War to Work: Women Building Back Communities.” We have gathered a dynamic group of experts to share their perspective on the recent progress and setbacks in the fight for political and economic empowerment and discuss how they have a direct impact on health, violence against women, and women rights.  As revolutionary as this year has been, ranging from the Arab Spring, to having for the first time three females from the developing world awarded the Noble Peace Prize; the struggle for gender equality still remains.  We hope to highlight important initiatives such as the 1325 resolution, 16 days of activism, and ongoing economic empowerment programs, while encouraging a meaningful discourse how those initiatives directly impacts the health, security, and human rights of women worldwide.

Join a dynamic group of experts from Equality Now, the Center for Women’s Global Leadership, UN Women, and Resolve Network, moderated by NYU Professor Barbara Borst.
